Up for sale is an Original 1945 WORLD WAR II Nurse Patriot CALENDAR produced for Nicky's Cafe in Baltimore, Maryland.
The scene depicted is of a patriotic victory girl nurse nurse partly wrapped in the U.S. flag. War planes are shown flying above in the sky and a tank on the ground. The art is taken from a 1942 piece by BILLY DEVORSS. Billy De Vorss created lush and vibrant pinups, often inspired by New York's theatres and nightclubs.
This was framed recently in a 13" by 17" modern frame.
The original metal hanging strip is missing on the the top as is the lower area that had the paper months that you would tear off as time passed.It also has some light creasing and wear. This is a thin and fragile historical piece that you will likely not find again.
