Description
Amazing! This RARE Fiberboard Item Has Survived Longer Than Most of Those That Served! The Marines have long been promoted as the toughest of the American fighting forces. This is similar to a rare WWII poster that saw a very low print run during World War II. "Tell it to the Marines" is a catchphrase popularized in America during World War I, by James Montgomery Flagg's 1917 recruitment poster entitled, "Tell That To The Marines." The insinuation is that the Marines are tough enough to take care of any problem. The catchphrase was further popularized by Al Jolson's 1918 recording, whose album cover re-enacted the Flagg poster. By the outbreak of World War II, the phrase was a major theme for recruitment and continues to this day.
