This ingenious image compares the citizen-soldiers veterans of Valley Forge with the "modern" solider of World War II. The contrast between the well equipped GI's with eyes right and their tattered predecessors is stunning.
The winter at Valley Forge was long and arduous and the nadir for the cause of liberty; however the look of resolve on the faces of the troops is unmistakable and inspiring. This poster was produced when the outcome of WWII was as uncertain as was the outcome of the Revolutionary War at the time of Valley Forge.
