Description
Original and complete set of "Four Freedoms" posters by Norman Rockwell from 1943, still housed in the "Official War Poster" envelope from the Office of War Information, postmarked 24 May 1943. Posters each measure 20" x 28", and depict "Freedom of Speech", "Freedom of Worship", "Freedom from Want" and "Freedom from Fear", four tenets of President Franklin D. Roosevelt's 1941 State of the Union address. Rockwell was so inspired by the speech that he created the oil paintings in 1943, which were then featured in "The Saturday Evening Post" and reproduced by the Office of War Information. Posters are original from 1943, with OWI printing copy on lower margin of each, as called for. Folded into eighths as issued, posters show only a few shallow creases, overall in near fine condition with bright colors and no toning. We accept PayPal and Credit cards via Paypal.
